What: This “virtual” 5k event will be hosted by the Central Michigan CISMA as a informal run/walk to bring people together to get outdoors, learn about invasive species and support our State Parks. Registration funds go to help plant trees in our State Parks to help them recover from invasive pests and diseases.
Where: Based on interest, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, and Midland Counties. Be on the lookout for where your county’s event will be held.
When:April 17th-26th to encompass both Earth Day and Arbor Day; that means the CISMA has a whole week to host events! Stay tuned for when your county’s event will be held.
How:Registration through the DNR and opens on January 1st. Sign up HERE. Due to the overwhelming amount of Michiganders that are interested in the event, they have already had to increase the cap! That means registration may be tight, so be on your toes to register. That being said, if you miss the DNR’s 5k registration, please feel free to still join us for our event. Consider donating to the Central Michigan CISMA to help fight invasive species in your area and further help the forests closest to you!
RSVP: If you are interested in this event, please RSVP (include your county) to Megan Rider at or 989-414-2237. We are excited to host this event and hope you will join us to support our Michigan ecosystem and learn about invasive species in our area!
